Black-owned Friday campaign was centered around teaching people to look for Google’s Black-owned business badge, which denotes that a business you searched for proudly identifies as Black-owned.
We turned to lyrical maven T-Pain to craft a song to encourage consumers to support Black-owned businesses as they embark on their holiday shopping. We brought the song to life via a fantastical interactive film that lets people shop 100+ products from over 50 different Black-owned businesses directly from each scene on a custom microsite, and raised awareness of the Black-owned business badge.
The film, brought to life by Nigerian-born director and music video visionary Daps, features several businesses-owners, influencers including singer Normani, comedian Desi Banks, and emerging singer/actress Tanerélle.
To get the word out, we created digital billboards in Atlanta and Los Angeles, featured T-Pain, Normani, and messaging directing people to shop on the website. In partnership with Think450, a bus drove through NYC amplifying our message by playing the film giving away products from featured businesses. We got the campaign all over the web, participating celebs blasted the film and links from their social channels, with T-Pain even casting a live-stream of his song recording on Twitch.

Our 360º Shop with Google campaign started emotional with a launch film, then we got practical with 10 more films: shop deals, nearby, in-stock, all with Google. Our billboards sang songs, snapped pictures, took over Times Square, oh and also reminded people to, you know, Shop with Google.
We helped people shop BIG trends, then shop small with Google—as in, small local Black-owned, women-led, API, Latinx, and LQBTQ businesses…don’t forget banners, TikTok, Instagram, Pinterest—not a bad 3 months for Shop with Google.

2020 was a tough year for everyone, including the habitants of Sam’s little town. The absence of hope and holiday spirit reflects on the absence of Christmas lights. Sam will have to travel to a magic world to discover that with her own spark of hope, she can bring life to the town once again.
